Are you sure, you are burning your FATS & not MUSCLES ?

One fine morning, when returned from rigorous cardio vascular session, you check your weight & you shout with surprise.. Wholla… Reduced by 1 kg…. Now that’s called a good start of the day… You congratulate yourself & pat on your back with a pride filled till its brim. Your now feel encouraged & starts doing some rough calculation …. If by spending 1 hour on Treadmill for last 1 week, I can loose 1 kg , then why not increase my run time to 1.5 hours.. with that I would loose more weight … Good idea… You implement your schedule from very next day & check your weight after 1 week… Kabbooom… 5 Kgs weight is gone… Wow… you realize that Math makes your life so simple…
You weight loss program continues for next few weeks, you are feeling lighter & lighter… but somehow not feeling energetic as you expected.. You feel tired & sapped up very quickly. Now a days, even a smallest piece of Pizza make you feel bloated which was hardly a case earlier.. You tend to put on more even if you miss hitting your treadmill session by just one day… You are loosing motivation because you are gaining weight so speedily..
What happened? What went wrong in you weight loss program? he he.. Wait a second.. In the first place, it was never a Weight Loss program.. It was a Muscle loss program… So all you lost so far were your Precious muscles & energy. The Fat burning capacity of your body remained same.. And in case if you are starving your self then there are chances that your BMR is reduced now… Now what the f*** is this BMR (Best source: Google)

What you should aim for is a Fat Loss & not a Muscle Loss (which exactly you were breaking your head upon for past few months!)
So remember A thumb rule: Fat Burning is directly proportional to your BMR. i.e. More the BMR more you will lose fat.
If you want to rid yourself of fat, then you have to rev up your BMR & there is no better way of doing that than to increase the quantum of muscle in the body. Weight training is not only for Body Builders but is also for all those flabby abs, thighs & gluts.
Also, if you are a woman then you will have this fear in your mind that what if you start building muscles after a weight training? Relax… You can never even dream about those bulky muscles like Arnold unless you inject good amount of Testosterone in you body.
On contrary, Weight training will give you beautiful toned body as a side effect if you are doing it for the purpose of Fat Loss…..
